Yesterday evening Tony and I attended the launch party for an interesting new venture in Winchester. The Peel2Save card provides 64 money-saving offers from Winchester based businesses, including Childhood's Dream, and is designed to be an easy way for local charities to raise funds. Each card costs £10 (the charity keeps £5) and lasts for a year, over which time you can use each of the offers just once (as you have to peel off the offer sticker as you use it). There is no intial outlay for a charity that would like to sell the cards, so it should be a great way to make more money for, for example, your PTA. It was such a balmy evening yesterday that it was lovely just to walk around the centre of Winchester in the sunshine, and then to go home for dinner in the garden - something it has been too cold to do most of the summer!
